Elderly cyclist seriously injured in Littlehampton crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a crash in Littlehampton which left an elderly cyclist with a broken back.

It happened at 10.15am on Wednesday, April 30, on the mini-roundabout at the junction of High Street and Terminus Road, outside Littlehampton United Reformed Church.

The 71-year-old man, from Yapton, was riding his silver pedal cycle when he was involved with a collision with a blue Toyota Yaris car, driven by an 89-year-old man from Littlehampton.

The cyclist suffered a fracture to his back and was taken to Worthing Hospital by ambulance.

He has since been allowed home.

The Toyota driver was unhurt.
