Elderly man dies after crash outside Hove school

Sussex Police said a 70-year-old man has died after a crash outside Hove Park School this afternoon (April 6).

A police spokesperson said: “At 12.43pm on Thursday, police were informed that a Kia Echo saloon driven by a 70-year-old man had left the road in Hangleton Way, Hove, gone through a fence at Hove Park School and collided with two parked and unattended cars in the car park there.

“The man received treatment from paramedics but sadly died at the scene an hour later. The coroner’s officer has bene informed.

“The sole passenger, a 13-year-old boy, was shocked but unhurt. Nobody else was involved in the crash.”

Police said the cause of death and the reason the car left the road have not yet been established.
