Elderly pedestrian injured in Brighton scooter collision

Sussex Police is appealing for witnesses after a collision involving a scooter and a 90-year-old pedestrian yesterday (August 23).

Police said the driver of a blue Ford Kuga car, known to have been nearby when a scooter and a pedestrian were in collision, may be a key witness to the incident.

The incident took place on the Roedean Road, near the roundabout junction with Whitehawk Road.

Officers said it resulted in the pedestrian, a 90-year-old local man, sustaining a broken leg and being treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

The rider of the Yamaha scooter, a 23-year-old man from Newhaven, was unhurt.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened, but particularly the Kuga driver or any passengers.
