Sussex Police is appealing for witnesses after a collision involving a scooter and a 90-year-old pedestrian yesterday (August 23).

Police said the driver of a blue Ford Kuga car, known to have been nearby when a scooter and a pedestrian were in collision, may be a key witness to the incident.

The incident took place on the Roedean Road, near the roundabout junction with Whitehawk Road.

Officers said it resulted in the pedestrian, a 90-year-old local man, sustaining a broken leg and being treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

The rider of the Yamaha scooter, a 23-year-old man from Newhaven, was unhurt.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened, but particularly the Kuga driver or any passengers.

They are asked to contact Sussex Police online or call 101, quoting serial 412 of 23/08.
