Elderly women the victims of purse thief

Two of the incidents happened in Littlehampton and two in Rustington. In each case, the purses were taken from the women's open bags without their knowing.

In Littlehampton, a purse was taken in Arcade Road and another from a bag in the Somerfield supermarket in the town.

In Rustington, one purse was taken while its owner was in a charity shop in The Street.

The oldest victim was 93 and she had her purse taken while she was walking along The Street.

This victim offered a description of a woman she saw near her after she realised her purse had gone and who police said they would like to eliminate from their enquiries.

She is described as aged 35-45, of Mediterranean appearance with blonde, possibly bleached, hair, of medium build, and with tattoos on her shoulder.
