Eleven arrests over graffiti menace

BEXHILL police have revealed the success of the initial stage of Operation Aerosol.

The operation was designed to cut down on the number vandals daubing graffiti and causing damage in the town.

As a result 11 people being arrested in the last month.

Additionally, there have been 26 directly detected crimes and 33 further crimes have been taken into consideration as the result of police action.

Inspector Simon Nelson, said this was the winding up of the operation's short term objectives and police will now tackle the question of prevention.

He said: "We will now look to the long term approach and will work closely with Rother and other authorities.

"We would like to now take more preventative measures."
