Emergency takeaway

SATURDAY night plans went pearshaped for a group of ladies when their takeaway order could not be delivered.

The problem was they were locked inside premises in Wickham Avenue with no way of opening the front door to receive kebabs which must have been cooling by the minute.

A crew from Bexhill Fire Station answered their emergency call just after 9pm and were able to open the door to unite them with their order.

A spokesman said in most cases calls for help came from people who were locked outside their homes, rather than inside, but this could also prove serious risk.
