Explodingthe myth of womenin history

Starting at 11am at Tilling Green Community Centre the lecturer Vanessa King will be looking at the important role women played in pre-Tudor England.

Entitled Medieval Women – Nuns, Tarts, Trouble & Strife, Vanessa will explode a number of myths and stereotypes as well as, hopefully, change people’s perceptions in what promises to be a fascinating and stimulating day.

The event ties in with an ongoing project being run at Tilling Green Community Centre and co-ordinated by Rye Partnership, which is looking at women in history, in relation to Rye.

It is also linked to a project to raise funds to restore the Women’s Tower at the Ypres Castle in Rye.

The tower was once a women’s prison.

The course costs £20, which includes a buffet lunch, and will end at 4pm.
