Seven-week old Aliana Cockerton joined her mum Abigail, 23, grandmother Melissa, 44, great-grandmother Eleanor, 64, and great great-grandmother Marjorie, 92, for a photo in this week’s Gazette.

Eleanor, of Arundel Road, Angmering, said: “I just feel proud of my family, that we are here to be able to celebrate this occasion – for my mum, more than anything.

“My mum is absolutely delighted she’s still here to see this. It’s just wonderful we are all still here together for the little celebration.

“There’s a little bit of a resemblance between us all. Aliana’s a little sweetheart. She’s a brilliant little mite, bless her. She’s in her own room at night; she’s very content for her mum.”

The close-knit family has a heavy weighting of girls – only three of Marjorie’s 11 great-grandchildren are boys.

The family will soon be celebrating again when Marjorie turns 93 next Tuesday.
