Family pays tribute to teen killed at Angmering railway station

THE family of a teenager killed in a horrific accident at Angmering railway station have paid tribute to a "fantastic daughter".

Megan Moore, 16 and from East Preston, died just before midnight on Saturday (November 21), when she slipped between a train and the platform.

Her mother, Lorraine Moore, said: "We would like to thank everybody for being so kind and supportive at this sad and difficult time.

"Megan had just started Chichester College doing a media course, and although she only started the course in September, we know that she was very happy there.

"She was a fantastic daughter and sister, a kind, thoughtful and spirited girl who was blossoming into a young lady.

"She will always be loved and missed by her family and many friends."

Emergency stop

A spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP) said that they were called to the station at 11.57am.

He went on to say: "It appears that Megan was running alongside the train tapping on the window as it left the platform when she slipped between the platform and the train, which was the 2217 London Victoria to Bognor Regis service.

"The train performed an emergency stop and halted still partly in the platform.

"Our thoughts are with Megan's family at this very difficult and sad time."

The incident, he said, was not being treated as suspicious.
