Feathered friends join in the celebrations at activity centre

Joining in the successful open day for Friends of Laburnum, the Age Concern activity centre in Bognor were a number of feathered friends who turned out to be very welcome guests of the more than 60 people who took part in the special day.

The owls were one of the main attractions of the event which was staged to show the wide range of activities on offer for people over 50.

With a membership of more than 800 people there is something for everyone from t'ai chi and meditation to arts and crafts, language classes, card games, darts, table tennis, computer classes, internet access and much more.

Adding a musical element to the proceedings was the band Strings and Things who provided the entertainment.

Food is also a welcome part of the day with the Laburnum providing a quality, affordable range of snacks and meals.

A midday meal is served daily and refreshments are available throughout the day. Anyone wishing to join the Laburnum club should phone Ruth on 01243 827185 or call into the centre any week day between 9.30-4pm at Lyon Street Bognor Regis.
