Fine for not completing work on St Leonards property

The owner of a property in St Leonards was fined for not completing work imposed by the council.

Neil Bunyan failed to comply with a section 215 notice from Hastings Borough Council to render and paint 25 Western Road.

Bunyan did not attend Eastbourne Magistrates’ Court but was found guilty and fined £1000 with costs of £432 and a victim surcharge of £100 on Friday, March 18.

He was served the notice on January 28, 2015, by the council requiring that within six months of March 2, 2015, certain works were undertaken to improve the property.

The required works included the rendering of exposed brick work and the painting of render, woodwork and metalwork on the building.
