Fire at restaurant in Crawley: firefighters extinguish blaze on first floor

Firefighters from Crawley and Horsham tackled a restaurant fire this evening (Thursday, February 10).

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service first made the announcement via their Twitter profile at 7.40pm that they were ‘dealing with a restaurant fire at Barnfield Road, Crawley’.

A WSFRS spokesperson then told the Obby: “At around 7pm Joint Fire Control received reports of a fire at Barnfield Road, Crawley.”

“Fire engines from Crawley and Horsham were sent to the incident, as well as crews from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service,” they said.

“On arrival it was established that there was a fire in the first floor of the building,” the spokesperson added.

“Crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and jets to extinguish the blaze and firefighters from Crawley currently remain on scene damping down.”
