Firefighters tackle '˜deliberate' fire in Bexhill

Firefighters believe a fire in Bexhill on Sunday afternoon (July 31) was started deliberately.

Two East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service appliances from Hastings and Bexhill were mobilised to Buckholt Lane after smoke was seen in the area at around 12.15pm.

Firefighters used one hose reel jet to tackle the deliberate fire, a fire service spokesman said.

Later that day, Bexhill firefighters were mobilised to Ninfield following reports of a car leaking fuel at 5.15pm.

The crew used an environmental pack to make the area on Ninfield Road safe for the public.
