Five Crafty Ladies put their artwork on sale

THE Five Crafty Ladies, that's what they call themselves and this afternoon five friends with individual craft skills have put their work before the public

Clair Bula-Edge, Fiona Stevens, Beth Cooksey, Gill Hicks and Christine Still took a hall at Little Common Methodist Church and staged a sale of their work.

Clair works in salt dough. Each of the designs she produces has to be baked for 12 hours before being enamel painted.

Fiona has extended the principle of recycling into the realms of jewellery. Many of her creations feature beads and other elements salvaged from elsewhere.

Beth was displaying some of her Christmas decorations plus colour prints of some of the photographs she has taken.

Gill's hand-made knitted goods and Christmas decorations filled another stall while Christine was exhibiting her silver jewellery.

Fiona said: "We have all been friends for a long time. We just got together and decided to see how it goes.

"We love making things and, being 'crafty,' we call ourselves the Five Crafty Ladies.

"We look on this as a craft fair with a difference."

Clair has yet another skill.

"I play saxophone in a jazz band'¦"

Five talented crafty ladies.
