Flash floods have caused chaos on the roads, closed a supermarket and saw Brighton station's roof leak this afternoon (August 10).

The Co-op store on London Road was closed after flooding.

And the roof at Brighton railway station caused flooding on the concourse just after 5pm.

Preston Road was badly flooded due to the heavy rain, with flood water reportedly making it very difficult to drive.

There were also delays on the A23 just north of Brighton and the A27 between Hollingbury and Patcham after the heavy rain.

A cricket match between the Sussex Sharks and Kent Spitfires at the Sussex County Cricket Ground in Hove was also abandoned as a result of the rain.
