As well as purchasing equipment, the Friends
also contributed a sum towards a defibrillator
that has now been installed at Shrubbs Field.

Geoff Blunden, trustee of the Friends of Avisford Medical Group, said: “We have not taken part in
the fetes for two years, so
we had to think up something a bit different.

“We came up with a
half-size skeleton, which
we thought would be in
line with our surgery
theme.

“The main reason we
took part in these two
well-attended events was
to ‘get ourselves out there’, and allow the general
public to give us some feedback.

“We had two games – ‘guess Mr Bones’ name’
was won by Olivia, who guessed ‘Christopher’, and the ‘name the bones’ competition was won by Emma Bembridge.”

“Our new banner was proudly displayed and we were very encouraged by the number of people who came over to say hello and take part in our two competitions.

“We would also like to thank all the local business that have done their bit to help us out.”
