Tanbridge House School pupils celebrate their GCSE results

Among the impressive results, there were a number of standout students including Emily Batchelor, 16, who was thrilled to achieve ten A* grades and two A grades. She will now be going on to Collyer’s to study physics, maths, music and chemistry.

Sam Dallas, 16, was also delighted with his result. He received nine A* and two A grades, and is heading to Collyer’s to study maths and the sciences.

The school identified other strong performers as Sam Woodall, Joe Hunting, Melanie Railton, Ellie Clarke, Hayley Rose and Rachael Conceicao.

In total, 76 per cent of students achieved five or more A*-C grades including English and maths.

Thirty per cent of all grades were A*-A. In English, 90 per cent of students achieved A*-C grades with 37 per cent A*-A.

Not to be outdone, maths and science also achieved excellent results with 25 per cent and 33 per cent of pupuls respectively securing A* to A.

Head teacher Jules White said: “Again, I am delighted to confirm another set of excellent GCSE results.

“Our headline figure is 76 per cent five or more A* - C including English and maths. More importantly we have again added significant value to the educational achievement of the whole year group.

“This is a testament to the hard work and commitment of students and colleagues as well the support of families and the wider community.

“I am also keen to stress – as always- that exam performance is one important aspect of provision. At Tanbridge House we are equally proud of the opportunities and care we provide for all youngsters.”
