Good causes benefit from cash injection

The Rox Music and Arts organisation, which will hold their festival in the town on July 27 and 28, received £4,000 from the Joint Western Arun Area Committee for new audio equipment.

The money is part of the community initiative funding, which helps projects led by local organisations.

Councillors on the committee also agreed to give £650 to South Bersted’s St Mary Magdalene Church for a screen projector as well as £450 to Rose Green Junior School towards new educational games.

A further £233 went to the Bognor Regis Girl Guides for a camping holiday.

Chairman Ann Rapnik said: “We are always delighted to support deserving community projects and the CIF grants allow us to do just that.

“If any organisation needs help for a scheme I would urge them to apply for a grant as we are now considering applications for this financial year.”

Councillors also dished out nearly £6,000 between a number of voluntary and community organisations.

The cash is from 
the prevention and wellbeing grants which promotes social contact, exercise, and educational activities.

They also elected several 
representatives to outside bodies including the Bognor Regis Regeneration Board to helps economic growth in the area.

The next Joint Western Arun Area Committee meeting will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, September 25, at Bishop Tufnell Junior School, Pennyfields, Felpham.
