Hastings And District Anglo-French Club

On January 19th we held our celebration of the fête Saint Vincent (actual date should be January 22nd). Before the wine tasting, we learnt about the life of Saint Vincent. At first we were not clear why this early fourth century martyr should be associated with wine, especially in the middle of winter, There was quite a lot of bemusement and laughter about this but eventually we heard some very interesting explanations.

Our next meeting, on February 2nd will be a talk by Brigitte Adam on L’histoire de la langue francaise (the history of the French language) .

Anyone with an interest in French language and culture is welcome to join us at the usual place and time – 2 30 to 4 pm, Holy Redeemer church hall in Upper Church Road, St Leonards.
