MICHELHAM PRIORY: On Saturday March 19 there is a Spring Buds and Blossoms 90 minute garden tour exploring the seven acres of historic gardens as they burst into spring, with the head gardener, James Neil. Price includes entrance to the house and grounds, tour and soup and fresh bread roll in the café. Tour starts at 11am. £16 for non-members, £11 for Sussex Archaeological Society Members and Friends of Michelham Priory. From March 25 to 28 there are Easter events at Michelham Priory with seasonal activities for all ages, children’s Easter trail and floral displays. MYSTERY BOOKS: Don’t judge a book by its cover, support your local charity and pop in for a mystery book for 50p. Community Corner Charity Shop on North Street, Hailsham is celebrating World Book Day with a two week long event. They have decided that this national event should be for book loving adults as well as children and are encouraging customers not to judge a book by its cover. Instead we are asking people to pop in, pick a genre and to take away a mystery book, all wrapped up so they don’t know what they are getting. The event will run until Thursday and all of the disguised books will be 50p. Community Corner Charity Shop raises money for Sussex Community Development Association (SCDA), enabling the charity to support local neighbours and community projects. The volunteer run shop is open 9.30am to 3.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
