Duvets, cutlery and fishing rods are among the items a Brighton hostel is appealing for to help homeless men and women in the city.
Phase One, Brighton Housing Trust’s (BHT’s) 52-bed hostel for single homeless men and women, is seeking household and leisure items to improve the lives of its clients who are using alcohol and substances.
The items it needs are: bowls, plates, knives, forks, spoons, a cafetiere, single duvets, pillows, single bed sheets, bedding covers, small televisions, fishing rods and fishing equipment.
Jodie Masters, deputy manager at Phase One, said: “Our hostel encourages clients to move away from their addictions and onto recovery.
“Your unwanted goods will be much appreciated and made to good use. We aim to make residents stay as homely as possible.”
Phase One works to increase self-esteem and create a space where vulnerable people can begin to address the issues at the root cause of their homelessness.
It works with clients with alcohol and substance issues, and encourages them to examine their substance misuse to take positive steps towards recovery and abstinence.
If you can help by donating any of the mentioned goods, please contact Jodie Masters by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 01273 328285.
