Heroic cat Boots needs new home

Boots’ owner died suddenly just after Christmas and he was left to fend for himself for a while in a remote spot at Rye Harbour.

Frightened and alone, his future was looking bleak as the local cat charities were unable to help him.

Then Rye Mayor Bernardine Fiddimore from Iden Boarding Kennels and Cattery offered to give him shelter and find a new home for him.

Boots is no ordinary cat. Some while ago he saved his owner from burning to death when their caravan caught fire in the night. Boots scratched and miaowed at his owner until the old man woke up and escaped the inferno. Boots will need a big lap too, weighing in at over 6 kilos and measures over 40cm from head to tail.

The Mayor said: “Boots is very loving now he has got over his fear at the changes in his life and will make a wonderful companion for the right person.”
