Homes planned for factory site in Bognor

A national developer has confirmed its commitment to building homes on a former fridge factory in Rose Green.

Barratt Homes will be putting up 58 houses and 32 flats on the former Osborne Refrigeration site in Rose Green Road.

The fridge company is moving 100 yards westwards along the road to safeguard the employment of its 65 workers in smaller and more modern premises. Work on the transfer is well underway to end 45 years of manufacturer on the original site.

Four bungalows along Rose Green Road are also being demolished to make way for the housing on a plot of 1.85 hectares.

The new housing development will be called Rose Wood, Barratt has announced, and consist of two, three and four-bedroom properties.

Sales director Catherine Ferguson said: "We are delighted to be moving forward with plans for Rose Wood and to bring Barratt to the area.

"We have already receied inquiries from potential buyers. So, we expect interest to continue to rise."
