Based in Christ’s Hospital, Horsham, the health and fitness club aimed to beat their previous set record for attendees of their Les Mills Body Combat class.

On the day, it proved the most popular event with over 400 people taking part; a great advance on an aim of 200.

Throughout the day, guests were invited to take part in a wide variety of interesting and exciting fitness classes. Working to broaden people’s approach to exercise, fifteen minute sessions took place to showcase the 70 plus classes that take place in a normal week, whilst childcare facilities were available for parents with young children.

Body Combat was the highlight session, and Kettlebells, Indoor Cycling & Yoga were enjoyed by many. A special Body Pump class took place where Bluecoat staff member Elaine Boys’ achieved her 60th Body Pump release. An achievement celebrated by the club along with the attendees.

Bluecoat Sports described the event as a way to inspire Sussex to stay on target with their fitness goals: “Let Bluecoats give you an exciting, action packed Fitness and Wellbeing kick start to 2016”.

With locals able to book online and let the club manage numbers for each class, there was a strong emphasis on the day to motivate and encourage fitness goals to be achieved long after the buzz of New Year resolutions.

The combination of childcare facilities and top of the range gym facilities highlights how living a healthy lifestyle is achievable and can become part of a normal routine.
