HUNT STEPPED UP FOR ROBBER

Police have issued a CD Fit following a robbery which took place at Windmill Hill Post Office at around 5.30pm on Thursday, March 9.

A man entered the store, demanded money and threatened staff with what appeared to be a handgun.

The man is described as

white,

18 '“ 23 years,

5ft 10in tall,

slight build, (unfit appearance)

short dark brown hair, possibly spiky at front,

long thin, lean, clean shaven face,

pointed chin,

red cheeks,

dark curved eyebrows,

dark oval eyes, possibly brown,

full eyelashes,

long thin pointed nose,

average width mouth,

full lips with a cupids bow,

wearing black coat with hood and brown/beige fur trim,

short length and blue jeans.

He was carrying an automatic type black metal handgun, opaque appearance with square handle.

He spoke with southern accent.

The Post Office will offer a reward of up to 5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the robbery.

Payment of the reward is subject to information received before 14th September 2006 and validity of any claim will be determined by Post Office Security in conjunction with Sussex Police.

Shortly after the robbery a car was found burning in Horsebridge. It is not known whether the two incidents are linked but anyone with information is also asked to contact Wealden CID.
