Saturday Coffee Morning: Tomorrow 25 October The Church Charity Family Support has a coffee morning from 10.30 am until 12 noon in the Memorial Hall. Everybody is welcome.On sale cakes, mugs, Christmas Cards plus a Bring and Buy.

Village Quiz and a Special Raffle; Saturday 25 in the Hall and in aid of Church Funds. Stuart Baker has been given A £50 Voucher by the Art group who had it left over from their exhibition. The voucher is for a cut and blow dry at the top salon - The Rye Retreat.. Tickets in this raffle are £1 and the draw will be at the Quiz. All proceeds will go to the New Pavilion Fund.

All Saints: Sunday 26 October there will be Parish Eucharist at 10.30.

The Queen’s Head: Sunday 26 live music 4-6 top pops with the Pete Prescott Band. Wednesday 29 October Quiz Night in aid of St. Michael’s Hospice. Mini Beer Festival Thursday 30 to Sunday 2 November 25 Local real ales and live music every night.

The Robin Hood Bonfire Society: Ickenham’s Bonfire Society has its big night on the Fifth of November and the gates next to the Robin Hood open at 6.30pm. The bonfire and fireworks are about 8pm. The fireworks display is in 2 parts. On the field there is a licensed bar, a Hog Roast, a BBQ and various refreshments Entry is only £3 for adults and £2 for kids. Due to health and safety laws do not bring your own fireworks or sparklers. Marshalls have the legal power to confiscate these items.

Icklesham’s Pubs: This village is fortunate to have two thriving pubs with each making a huge contribution to community life.

Icklesham Players: “Sleeping Beauty of Icklesham” will be the pantomime produced in the Memorial Hall 19 -21 February 2015. Auditions will be on Sunday 2 November at 3pm in the Hall. All the big parts of a panto are needed and also lots of smaller parts if you feel like having a go. Children are needed especially if they like dancing. Murder!: Del Smith ,The Godfather of the Players, has made Stuart Baker of the Pavilion Project an offer he’d rather not refuse. In January 2015 there will be a “Murder Mystery” evening. The evening is in 3 parts. In the first 2 the crime is acted out. Then t he audience, all potential sleuths, have supper. Part 3 is a chance to think about who done it and what was the motive,. Stuart is thinking about £8 a head and having a raffle. To make it worthwhile between 50 and 60 people are needed working in squads of up to 6. Let Stuart know if you are interested and then the details can be sorted out.

Fougerolles du Plessis: Where? This is the French village where Howard Marks formerly of Broad Street puts together the excellent Icklesham Parish Magazine. The use of Information Technology links with Hugh Moseley and Stuart Baker in Sussex to give us for the price of less than a postage stamp our magazine. The village has a longer name than Icklesham but like us about a thousand inhabitants. It is in the upper Loire with vineyards and chateaus, The nearest town and capital of the Department of Mayenne is Laval. If you see a French car with 33 on its number plate the it might be Mr and Mrs Marks coming back to check on us, French vehicles have to be register in their home department .Each has a number which is its alphabetical position in the list of departments.

Christmas Fayre: Saturday 29 November 10am -1pm in the Memorial Hall. The Church has invited Santa Claus to come.

Icklesham Trust A.G.M.: The Trust is responsible for the Memorial Hall and the Pavilion. If you’d like to get involved or talk to committee members the A.G.M. is on Friday 5 December with wine and nibbles at 7pm and the agenda starting at 7.30.
