Keane video to feature Bexhill

TOP pop band Keane are due in Bexhill today (Friday) to film a video to accompany their latest album, ‘Strangeland’, released earlier this week. The cover features shots of Bexhill’s controversial Next Wave seafront shelters.

It’s been four years since the piano-led quartet, hailing from nearby Battle, topped the charts with ‘Perfect Symmetry’ and the new offering is expected to have die-hard fans delirious. The accompanying video, ‘Pretty’ will be used to promote it.

It’s understood a vintage car will take frontman Tom Chaplin on a road trip from Bexhill’s seafront amusement arcade through the town to join a huge party at the Sovereign Light Cafe on West Parade.

Bexhill Classic Cycle Group said yesterday it had received an urgent request for riders in period costume with penny-farthing or similarly early bicycles for the afternoon film shoot by the Love Commercial Production Company.

Organiser Ray Konyn said: “The aim will be to create a heartfelt portrait of a much-loved town and a joyful celebration of English Life.”

At the time of going to press, Tom Chaplin and fellow band member Tim Rice-Oxley were both understood to be suffering from gastric conditions, so filming could be dependent on them being restored to health.
