Keeping Rothersafe this winter
AN ongoing police operation aims to tackle crime during the dark winter days.
During the last three years there has been a rise in crime in the Battle and Rye area particularly burglaries of homes and commercial premises during November and December.
Inspector James Scott said: “This year rather than waiting for the crimes and reacting to them we are being proactive to make Rother an even safer place to live. Officers are being assigned on a daily basis to respond to suspicious activity calls.”
