'Large group of intoxicated people' in the sea in Sussex dealt with by emergency services
A 'large group of intoxicated people' in the sea in Sussex had to be dealt with by the emergency services.
Last night (August 30), Shoreham coastguards were called out along with colleagues from Newhaven to the large group, who had gone into the sea at Brighton beach.
They were coached out of the water with the added help of Brighton Beach Patrol and Sussex Police, and 'strong words of advice were given', the Shoreham coastguard said.
At 1.53am today (August 31), the coastguard was again called out to help South East Coast Ambulance Service, as a man had been found unconscious and with a head injury on Brighton Promenade.
A coastguard spokesman said: "The Shoreham coastguard rescue team and Brighton Beach Patrol attended and provided assistance before the person was passed into the care of the ambulance service.
This was not related to the earlier incident.
