Lewes town councillor resigns from his role

A Lewes town councillor has resigned from his role, it has been announced today (Friday, January 29).

Fraser Addecott, Green Party councillor for Castle Ward, has told the Town Clerk of his decision to step down as a town councillor, which is effective immediately.

There will now be a two-week period during which ten electors registered within Castle Ward may request an election be held.

If those ten requests are received before Wednesday, February 17, a by-election will then be scheduled by the District electorial services manager. The by-election would have to take place within 60 days.
