Jack Kool, 68, of Littlehampton, was part of the Brighton team.

He said: “I got involved in over-50s walking football after attending a taster session in Littlehampton and have really enjoyed it since. It gives a number of the older generation a chance to stay involved with football.”

Brighton boss Chris Hughton took part in a coaches versus Albion match, while first-team striker Sam Baldock watched the action from the sideline.

The event was also used as the launch of the Albion in the Community bid to bring the sport to locations across Sussex, including the Arun district. For details, call 07880 195515 or email [email protected]
