Littlehampton's homeless feeling the bitter chill

FREEZING cold weather has made life even more difficult for Littlehampton's homeless population – but worse is expected to follow.

Tony Moran, of charity HOMElink, said: "Thankfully we are not getting too many rough sleepers at the moment, because, by the grace of God, they are being taken in by people they know, but what the situation will be like when it starts to thaw, I think they will be back out again, and we will have a problem.

"All we are doing at the moment is trying to keep those who are outside as warm as we can."

He added that The Ark, HOMElink's information centre, and its breakfast club, were working hard to make sure those who were on the streets had everything they needed, such as food, warm clothing and blankets.

*Anyone who would like to donate items to the charity, especially blankets or sleeping bags, can drop them into The Ark, in New Road, Littlehampton.
