Love and peace at Peasmarsh Primary as school enjoys swinging back to the 1960’s

Children researched fashion, dance, money, music and learnt what it was like to live in the sixties.

They even came to school in their 60’s attire and treated the whole school and parents to a fabulous mini concert showcasing their self-choreographed dance moves and routines.

Rachael Maddison, from the school, said: “At the end of the concert the parents were invited to join in the dancing!

Parent Mrs Shambrook said: “The children were so brave and did really well. I am so impressed that they made up their own routines”.

Children ‘bought’ items of food using their old English currency and enjoyed a 60’s buffet of cheese and pineapple, sausage on sticks, blancmange, retro sweets and ice-cream with wafers.

Class teacher Mrs Sharp said she was impressed that the children had put in a lot of hard work over the term and enjoyed the topic.
