Macmillan Cancer Support spring fair

OVER £700.00 was raised at the Bexhill and Little Common Macmillan Cancer Support Spring Fair held at St Marthas Church Hall last Saturday.

Chairman of the committee, Cynthia Edwards praised the committee members and helpers for all their hard work in putting the fair together and for making it such an outstanding success.

She believes that people flock to the fair because not only it is in aid of such a worthwhile cause but because the word is out that many bargains are to be found from regular stall holders who attend the event.

She said: " Our usual stall holders were keen to support this special charity and we were also honoured that the popular local artist John Holman and young photographer Ben Faulkner gave us their support."

She added: "As usual Vi Curtis and her team made the delicious cakes and cookies for the ever popular cake stall, and Cathy and her 'curios' provided some very interesting memorabilia. The exquisite Thai jewellery was extremely popular and of course the very generous supporters made a beeline for the bargains at the bric-a-brac."

Profits from the fair will go to the Macmillan speech therapist who works with patients suffering from head, neck and throat cancer.

Cynthia said: "Thanks must be given to the very hard working committee who work tirelessly to raise funds for cancer patients."
