The following are court results for the Observer area from Hastings Magistrates' Court from December 31 - January 5 .

December 31:

Darryl Brewer (aged 34), of The Ridge, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman and to damaging a vehicle belonging to the victim. He also pleaded guilty to using violence to secure entry into a premises. The offences took place at St Leonards on November 28 last year. He was sentenced to prison for 20 weeks, suspended for two years. The court also made a restraining order and ordered him to pay £100 compensation.

Michael Jesson (aged 31), of Coronation Gardens, Battle, pleaded guilty to two charges of assaulting a woman by beating. The offences took place at Battle in July and August last year. The court made a restraining order and fined him £200. Magistrates ordered him to pay £75 compensation.

January 5:

Edward Breen (aged 55), of the Mint, Rye, was found guilty of assaulting a woman by beating her. The offence took place at Rye in August 2015. He was given a community order with a requirement for 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay £225 compensation. The court also issued a restraining order.

Perrie Hart (aged 32), of Villa Road, Hastings, was found guilty of assaulting a woman by beating and causing £400 damage to an iPhone belonging to her. The offences took place at Crowhurst on June 25 last year. The court made a community order with a requirement of 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £100 compensation. It also made a restraining order.

Stacey Jones (aged 26), of London Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The offence took place at Cambridge Road, Hastings, on June 17 2015. She was given a 12 month conditional discharge.

Andrew Lettington (aged 51), of Little Common Road, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman occasioning her actual bodily harm and resisting a police officer. The offences took place at Bexhill on October 21 2015. The court made a community order.

Chantelle Williams (aged 36), of the Close, Rye, was found guilty of sexual assault on an adult male and a charge of theft. The offences took place at Queens Road, Hastings, on March 24 2015. She was sent to prison for a total of 26 weeks.

January 6:

Izaac Fox (aged 23), of De La Warr Road, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating and a charge of causing £250 damage to a glass window. The offences took place at Bexhill on September 22. He was ordered to pay £150 compensation.

Joshua Francis (aged 22), of Rye Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and causing £600 damage to a car belonging to the victim. The offences took place at East Beach Street, Hastings, on August 2 2015. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £250 in compensation.
