SOUTH MALLING SCHOOL: Will be supporting Sport Relief this year on Friday, March 18. The children are invited to dress up in their sports gear and make a £1 contribution to Sport Relief. They will also be taking part in a whole-school marathon, adding the distances run by individual children together to make up, they hope, the whole 26 miles and 385 yards. The marathon is just for fun and fitness so there is no extra sponsorship. Next week is Autism Awareness week and the school will be involved in various activities including an assembly to find out more about autism. Congratulations to South Malling's netball teams who played brilliantly in their latest league matches. Their team work and collaboration were exceptional. The A team is now through to the semi-finals, watch this space for more news.

SOUTH MALLING CHURCH: (One of the Trinity Churches) enjoyed an excellent Mothering Sunday Service last week, with families joining their parents and old friends coming along for a combined communion service, family celebration and blessing with glorious singing and lots of spring flowers, particularly daffodils, handed out to women in the congregation at the end of the service. It was a really good way to begin a day on which we all remembered our mothers with love and gratitude and in the week in which spring had begun. This coming Sunday, South Malling’s Family Service will be held in the school hall, the beginning of an experiment which will continue on and off throughout the year. The church will therefore be closed. The service will be led by Trinity’s Children, Schools and Families Minister, Neil Chisnall, and begins at 9.30am. All are welcome. Don’t forget, it’s at the school this Sunday.
