Motor circuit drive to keep noise permit

The application permitted in January, 2010, gave instructions on when events could be held, when they could be open to the public and also dealt with a number of other issues, including noise levels.

When permission was granted, it lasted for three years, subject to a review.

Now, the motor circuit has requested the policy that has dictated how its events have been run in the last three years be made permanent.

Chichester District Council must decide whether or not to permit the application.

In a covering letter to the council from the motor circuit’s representatives, associate director Nick Guildford of Terence O’Rourke, the planning, development and design specialists, wrote the removal of the condition preventing the application being made permanent ‘was the intention of the original planning application and indeed was recommended to the council’s area development control committee north by officers’.

When the original application was submitted residents were concerned at the then rise in noise levels in the area from the motor circuit.
