‘SOUPER’ WINTER WARMER: Today, Friday, RNLI Newhaven ‘Souper’ Winter Warmer. You are invited to come along to the Lifeboat House, Riverside, West Quay from 11.30am to 2.30pm to enjoy warming soup and a cheese roll for just £3.50 per person. This always popular fundraising event will see an improved service for 2016. There will be a raffle and a very warm welcome awaits you. No need to book, just come along. HISTORICAL SOCIETY: Newhaven Historical Society holds its Annual General Meeting at 7.30pm on Tuesday April 2 at the Hillcrest Centre. Following the meeting there will be an illustrated presentation by local historian Ian Everest about the villages and farms in the lower Ouse Valley between Lewes and the sea. Old photographs and cine film will feature the agricultural, aviation, sporting and artistic heritage of the area, and the audience will also find out about Mount Misery, Muggery Pope and Shannon Lass. RACE NIGHT: Newhaven Twinning Association are running a Race Night on Friday February 5 and it is open to both members and non-members. The event will be at Meeching Hall. Fort Road and will start at 7.30pm.The cost will be £5 per person and this includes a tasty supper.
