Northiam

Mary: We said our farewells to Mary Shipstone last Friday, with a simple, moving service, conducted by our Rector, Rod White. There was laughter seasoning the sadness as we remembered a determined little girl whose love of music and enjoyment of life touched so many people.

Concert: Northiam Chamber Orchestra brought us Haydn’s Creation last Saturday, and once again, people were asking how it is that our small village can put on such quality entertainment. Congratulations to Peter Fields and the Orchestra and thanks to the wonderful Occasional Consort and soloists Grace Constable, Gary Marriott, Barnaby Beers.

Badminton: Badminton Clubs in the Pretious Sports Hall run on Fridays, with the Junior Club at 5.30pm and 6.30pm (Primary & Secondary ages), with the adult club following on at 8pm. The Monday club runs for an hour from 5.45pm. All very welcome – we have two courts so can accommodate a range of abilities.

Bonfire: Staplecross Bonfire is on Saturday, with the Procession starting at 7.15pm. The Bonfire is set to start at 8.30pm, followed by fireworks. Although they won’t be able to match Hastings’ fireworks rising out of the sea, their display is always fantastic.
