Brighton’s beach and bustling streets have earned it the title of the UK’s most picture-perfect coastal town.
According to social media data collected by Premier Inn analysing the number of posts using each town’s hashtag since the beginning of the year, Brighton was by far the most photographed seaside spot.
It featured in more than 250,000 posts, nearly four times the amount of second placed Bournemouth which had just under 63,000.
Premier Inn said: “With an eclectic mix of a classic seaside and a vibrant town, there are photo opportunities wherever you turn in Brighton.
“Filled with award-winning restaurants, historic landmarks and lively bars, it’s no surprise that Brighton has come out top of the list.”
With the UK currently being spoiled with sunshine, the study set out to find Brits the ultimate summertime staycation destination.
It whittled hundreds of beachside sites down to a shortlist of 30, including Newquay, Blackpool and Llandudno.
Eastbourne, Hastings and Seaford also represented East Sussex on the list, but Dorset came out as the most ‘Instagrammed’ county with four locations being featured.
But Brighton romped home to take the throne as Britain’s best bet for a beach holiday, as well as being the most photogenic coastal town.
