I'm ashamed of the estate where I live

WHEN I look around the Mash Barn estate where I live in Lancing, I am upset by the level of lazy untidiness and lack of respect for others.

Come on folks, let's clean up our act a bit.

I live alone and don't have help from anyone, and I'm not very young, so if I can do it, so can you.

Front gardens are left with uncut lawns, beds and borders are a disgrace, and rubbish, old cars, beds, sofas, etc., seems to be the norm.

If you see a bit of rubbish then pick it up, it won't kill you.

Worse than the physical sloppiness are the screeching, screaming children and young people.

Do you parents have any idea of the nuisance your offspring are causing?

Do you think that it is your right to let your children run around quiet roads and closes causing mayhem?

Are you having a quiet evening in yourselves?

Get control over these young people.

You should know exactly what they are doing and, frankly, you don't.

Entertain them yourselves, play games, talk, be interested in them, watch programmes together on the TV.

You are the selfish ones.

The kids are only entertaining themselves because you cannot be bothered to invest in them.

Buck up your ideas, stop your own shouting and selfishness and take charge of your children.

Finally, we do not all share each other's taste in music '“ whether it comes from your house or your car.

Please stop and think about decent people trying to enjoy their own homes in peace.

This is called having respect for others.

For all of you readers who are not guilty, thanks.

To all the others (if you bother to read your local paper), then please don't get cross with me.

You are the ones at fault.

You are the ones who should be ashamed and feeling bad.

Save your anger, just do something, please.
