LETTER: Don’t waste more money on repairs
Regarding the Shelley Fountain, a few years ago, 2009 I think it was, there was a public consultation where officials were in town on a Saturday morning asking shoppers their opinion on this eyesore.
The majority of the people were in favour of removing this but the council went against this vote. Since then the fountain has not worked on several occasions and more money has been spent on repairing this.
Please do not waste any more money on it and just get rid of it. Cambridge was offered this Globe but refused it – how sensible of them.
