LETTER: Photo of football club’s dinner
I am writing to you regarding the Memory Lane photo in your edition of May 16 of the Horsham Football Club’s Annual Dinner and your request to put names to faces.
I can identify two for you - second row from the back - eighth from the left is Frederick Sparkes (Fred) who was at the time secretary to the club and former player and next to him - ninth from the left is his wife Violet Sparkes (Vi).
They were my paternal grandparents - they were both born in Horsham and lived in Swindon Road from 1924 for the rest of their lives.
