LETTER: Retain GP services in town centre

My wife and I are among many elderly people who deliberately moved to the town centre to be close to key services including doctors, dentists etc. As driving may have to be ended in the near future it is essential we are within walking distance of these vital services.

We appear to be threatened with having to attend such services at some distance requiring the use of a car or bus services. We fail to see why Orchard Surgery in particular cannot be expanded into the adjacent library building.

Library services have dramatically changed with the advent of online services. Surely medical services should have priority when assessing the future use of the library building.
