LETTER: Sad at changes to popular bistro

I cannot believe that such a much valued restaurant / cafe is having to close down due to recent decisions made by the management.

As regular customers over the past 15-20 years we have watched with admiration the amazing training provided for disadvantaged young people and the gradual development of the Bistro facility.

The Bistro team, so ably led by Katrina, have worked tirelessly to provide an excellent service to all their customers - nothing being to much trouble for them - the food always of excellent value, cooked and presented beautifully.

This decision, just before Christmas, leaves people who had hoped, as in previous years to enjoy group bookings, without a venue and with the loyal staff facing redundancy.

I would urge the Camelia Botnar management/ trustees to uphold the vision of the founder of the trust, Octav Botnar, and reconsider their recent decision.

I feel they will lose the goodwill of their customers who will in all probability not continue to journey over to the centre without the pleasure of the service the Bistro now provides.
