Apparently he asked the rail authorities for this area to keep the fare increases to a minimum and has been completely ignored.

Fares are going up above the rate of inflation.

we are also informed of his visit to Mais House to “to look around and have a chat” with staff and residents and enjoyed fish and chips.

He is the minister of environment and climate change, apparently, so why is he wasting his time pursuing such mundane things, just to get noticed and reported?
