Off with Queen’s Head posters

Those who call objectors of the displayed posters ‘extreme royalists’ and ‘bigots’ have missed the point.

As far as I know, no-one was against a ‘jubilee free zone’ - that’s a free and personal choice for the publican, and a good thing for many punters.

The crux of the matter is that it is offensive and disrespectful to deface an image of the Queen.

I don’t call that ‘extreme’ or ‘bigotted’. A different design of poster would have caused no comment at all.

What is ironic is that someone who lives and works in a pub called The Queen’s Head, and is of a republican persuasion, lives on what was called King Street in the town of Rye Royal.

I think the ‘royalists’ should get a free drink for giving all the extra publicity.
