Tesco Pulborough manager in bike tour challenge

Mike Garmendia, Services Manager at Tesco Pulborough, will be cycling 320 miles in 48 hours for Diabetes UK, as part of a unique Southern Bike Tour challenge, which will include a visit to over 20 stores on his journey from Margate to Lymington.

The ride will be the equivalent of climbing 6,000ft each day. This will be the furthest that Mike has ever cycled and he will be going further than a professional cyclist.

Unaccompanied for most of the journey, Mike will be starting his grueling challenge on Wednesday 3rd September at 7am in Margate however he will receive support from his local Cycling Club (in Bognor Regis) for part of the 320 miles.

“I’ve always wanted to take on a challenge that pushes me to my limits. I’ve been training hard for this but nothing can really prepare you for such a trial so, when I finish in Lymington I’m looking forward to a hot bath and a soft mattress afterwards”

Mike hopes to raise over £1,000 for Diabetes UK, which Tesco will top up with another 20% to bump up his total.
