Winner of contractor’s competition announced
In January, members of the contractor‘s project team behind the new Waitrose and John Lewis stores visited St John‘s Primary School to talk to the children about the project and delivered a presentation on site safety.
The children were asked to design a poster of how they believed the stores would look at the end of the project.

The winner, Leah Orme (Year 4) was chosen because the team felt that “so much thought had gone into the design and it reflected perfectly what the store would look like on completion - It was so good that Kevin asked Leah if she had looked at the plans!”
Each was given an easter egg provided by the Waitrose store team. The drawings are available to view on the site hoardings, with copies also being put up in the Waitrose store.
Community engagement is a key priority for Simons Group, who work nationally.
